Welcome to Wolverine State Brewing Co's first officially sanctioned team - #RunWolvBrew. This group of runners is training for and running in the Dexter/Ann Arbor 10K, which takes place on Sunday, June 4th. This is more than just a group trying to get or stay in shape, though. Follow their fitness journey or join in using #RunWolvBrew on twitter and instagram. Feed is displayed below! Also, keep your eye on our brew news blog for guest posts from the team with progress updates and generally witty banter.

Update: 4/3/17

"The hardest part is getting started." That was how Ben, a new #RunWolvBrew recruit, summarized the first fun-run. It was a rainy 50 degrees, but three brave runners made the most of it. Beer and lunch afterward helped.

Getting started has been tough for many of us this year. Family stuff, projects and injuries have made it hard for this team to get in gear. But as our teammate A-Bomb always says, it's time to "improvise, adapt and overcome."

The Dexter Ann Arbor run is coming up quick. We're doing our best to prepare and keep each other motivated. There are two more fun runs on the books and we're hoping the weather and turn out are a bit more promising. Mark your calendars for Sunday 4.23 and 5.28 @11:30 and meet us at the Brewery. In the meantime, share your training progress with #RunWolvBrew on Instagram.

March 2017: The Running Club Reactivates

The #RunWolvBrew team is dusting off our sneakers and preparing for the next Dexter Ann Arbor Run (DXA2 is going down on June 4th). You may have seen the jerseys behind the bar and wondered, is this actually a club? Right now, it’s really more like a state of mind, an attitude, an excuse to come to Wolverine State Brewing Co. And yes, you can join.

The Run Club is just a few average Joes (and Janes) who are looking for a fun way to get some exercise, gear up for the DXA2, and give a little back at the same time. We make realistic training goals for ourselves and share our progress on Instagram with the hashtag #RunWolvBrew – with lots of Gulos in between.

Some of us have decided to align our fitness goal with a pledge to donate to a charity of our choosing. The Run Club is a way to give back to ourselves, and the small donation is a way to give to something greater than ourselves.

We’ll be doing a few fun runs on weekends leading up to the DXA2, starting and ending at the brewery. Our first one will be on Sunday March 26 @11:30 am. If any of this sounds interesting to you, join the club for more details and chances to win some Wolverine State Brewing Co. stuff.

In the coming weeks, you'll be able to join the team and learn about participation levels - everything from casually running to running for a cause of your choice. In the mean time, email mackenzie@wolverinebeer.com with questions.
